Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  2. WARNING:

    Refer to SIR Warning .

  3. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  4. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .

  6. Disconnect the theft deterrent module (TDM) electrical connector (4).
  7. IMPORTANT:

    Rotate the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket counter-clockwise to disengage the locking tangs and pull to detach the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket (2) from the TDM.

  8. Detach the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket (2) from the TDM (1).
  9. Remove the TDM to steering column assembly retaining screw (3).

  11. Remove the TDM (1) from the steering column assembly (2).
