Strut, Strut Component, or Spring Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the strut assembly. Refer to Strut Assembly Removal and Installation .
1 Front Suspension Strut Nut
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Procedure 
Use the CH-48845  compressor to compress the front suspension strut assembly.
NOTE:

When disassembling the front suspension strut assembly, note the orientation of all the components to ensure that they are installed in the proper position.


Tighten 
70 N.m (52 lb ft)
Special Tools 
CH-48845  Spring Compressor
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
2 Front Suspension Mount Upper Cup
3 Front Suspension Strut Mount
NOTE:

The front suspension strut mount is only serviced as an entire assembly. If the mount pieces separate, align the individual pieces correctly and reassemble the mount.

4 Front Coil Spring
5 Front Strut Boot
6 Front Suspension Mount Lower Cup
7 Front Suspension Strut Bumper
8 Front Coil Spring Lower Insulator
9 Front Suspension Strut
