Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (LSA) .
  3. Fig 1: Generator, Battery Positive Cable, Fastener & Protective Boot

  4. Remove the protective boot (1) and remove the battery positive fastener (2) at the back of the generator.
  5. Remove the battery positive cable fastener (2) and remove the battery positive cable (3), from the back of the generator.
  6. Disconnect the engine harness connector (4).

  8. Remove the lower generator mounting fastener (1) and the generator mounting stud (3).
  9. Remove the upper generator mounting fasteners (2).

  11. Remove the generator (1) from the engine compartment.
