Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Coil Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the steering column upper trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the steering column lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
1 Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Coil Screw Bolt (Qty: 4)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  1.5 N.m (13 lb in)

2 Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Coil
Procedure: 
Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.
Tip: 
  • Do not remove the centering tab from a new steering wheel inflatable restraint module coil until it has been installed or re-centering will be required.
  • If re-centering of the steering wheel inflatable restraint module coil is needed then refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Centering .
