Keyless Entry Transmitter or DIC Learn Enable Method

  1. Ignition ON, initiate the TPM Learn Mode using one of the following procedures:
    • On vehicles equipped with keyless entry, simultaneously press the keyless entry transmitters lock and unlock buttons until a double horn chirp sounds indicating the Learn Mode has been enabled. The left front turn signal will also be illuminated.
NOTE: If learn mode cannot be enabled, TPM system is not enabled in RCDLR. Use DIC methods (below).
    • On older vehicles not equipped with keyless entry, press and release the driver information center (DIC) INFO button until the TIRE LEARN message appears on the DIC display. Press and hold the SET/RESET button until a double horn chirp sounds indicating the Learn Mode has been enabled. The left front turn signal will also be illuminated.
NOTE: Newer models may have either a Base DIC or an Uplevel DIC. Uplevel DIC Only: Make sure the Tire Pressure info page option is turned on. The info pages on the DIC can be turned on and off through the Settings menu.
    1. If the vehicle has an uplevel DIC, use the DIC controls on the right side of the steering wheel to scroll to the Tire Pressure screen under the DIC info page. If the vehicle has a base level DIC, use the trip odometer reset stem to scroll to the Tire Pressure screen.
    2. If the vehicle has an uplevel DIC, press and hold the V (Set/Reset) button located in the center of the DIC controls. If the vehicle has a base level DIC, press and hold the trip odometer reset stem for about five seconds. A message asking if the process should begin should appear. Select yes and press the trip odometer reset stem to confirm the selection.
    3. For both DIC types: The horn sounds twice to signal the receiver is in relearn mode and the TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message displays on the DIC screen.
  2. Starting with left front tire, follow either of these 2 procedures:
    • Increase/Decrease Method:  Increase or decrease tire pressure for 8-10 seconds, then wait for the horn to make a chirp sound. The horn chirp may occur before the 8-10 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached, or up to 30 seconds after the 8-10 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached
    • Sensor Activation Tool Method:  Starting with the left front tire, hold the activation tool against the tire wall aiming upward with the antenna. Press the activate button and wait for a horn chirp.
NOTE: If a horn chirp does not sound after 35 seconds for any of the 4 sensors, turn ignition switch to OFF position to exit the learn mode. Repeat procedure from step  1.
  3. After horn chirp has sounded, repeat procedure for the next 3 sensors in the following order: right front, right rear and left rear.
  4. After left rear sensor has been learned, a double horn chirp will sound. Turn ignition switch to OFF position to exit relearn procedure. Adjust all tire pressures to specification. If the double horn chirp did not occur, repeat procedure from step  1.
