Installation Procedure

    WARNING:

    Never install the passenger airbag module into the instrument panel assembly that airbag module chute is cut. This may cause incorrect deployment when the passenger airbag is deployed.

  1. Position new or existing passenger airbag module (1) to the chute (2) on new or existing instrument panel.
  2. CAUTION:

    Make sure that the passenger airbag is installed into the chute completely.

  3. Push the passenger airbag module (1) into the chute (2) until the hooks of airbag module is inserted in the holes of chute completely.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the passenger airbag module bolts (1) and tighten to 10 (89 lb in).
  6. Install the instrument panel outer air outlet duct. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement .
  7. Install the windshield defroster nozzle. Refer to Windshield Defroster Nozzle Replacement .
  8. Install the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  10. After replacing the module, fully deploy the old module before disposal.
