Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Coil Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  2. Remove the steering column shroud. Refer to Steering Column Shroud Replacement .
1 Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Bolt (Qty: 4)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  3 N.m (27 lb in)

2 Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil

Procedure

  1. Disconnect any electrical connectors as necessary.
  2. Transfer the steering angle sensor. Refer to Steering Angle Sensor Replacement .
  3. Ensure the coil is centered during installation. If you are installing a NEW coil, remove the centering tab AFTER the coil is on the steering column. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Centering .
