Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement

Refer to SIR Warning .

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the right side instrument panel upper outer trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Outer Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
1 Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Fastener (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

2 Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Assembly

Procedure

  1. Ensure that the instrument panel inflatable restraint module is fully deployed before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Module Handling and Scrapping .
  2. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
NOTE:

The instrument upper outer trim panel must be replaced if the passenger airbag is replaced.
