Removal Procedure

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front .
  3. Fig 1: Identifying CMP Sensor & Electrical Connector

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  4. Use compressed air to remove debris from the CMP sensor and surrounding cavities.
  5. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (1) from the CMP sensor (2).

  7. Remove the CMP sensor to engine front cover retaining bolt (1).
  8. Remove the CMP sensor (2) from the engine.
