Installation Procedure
- Install the electronic parking brake control module to the bracket.
- Install the electronic parking brake control module bolts (1) and tighten to 9 (80 lb in).
- Install the electronic parking brake control module and bracket assembly to the lower insulator stud.
- Install the electronic parking brake control module bracket nuts (1) and tighten to 9 (80 lb in).
- Inspect the O-ring seals on the electronic parking brake control module spindle and the parking brake front cable nut for damage and correct positioning and replace, if necessary.
- Install the parking brake front cable nut (1) and tighten to 6 (53 lb in).
- Connect the electronic parking brake control module electrical connector.
- Install the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
- Install the left rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Enable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling .
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
A small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant on the bracket insulator to ease installation.
NOTE:
The electronic parking brake control module spindle must be held stationary while installing the parking brake front cable nut to avoid distorting the spindle housing.
