Removal Procedure
- Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
- Block the drive wheels.
- Disable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the left rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Remove the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
- Disconnect the electronic parking brake control module electrical connector.
- Disconnect the parking brake front cable nut (1).
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module bracket nuts (1).
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module and bracket assembly from the lower insulator stud.
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module bolts (1).
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module from the bracket.
NOTE:
A small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant on the bracket insulator to ease removal.
