Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Injectors And Fuel Injector Brackets

  1. Install the 4 fuel injector bracket to the fuel injectors (3).
  2. Install the 4 NEW seal rings (1).
  3. Install the fuel injectors along with the brackets to the cylinder head.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the 4 washers (2).
  5. Loosely install the 4 injector bracket bolts (1).

  6. Install the 4 fuel injection fuel feed pipes (2).
  7. Loosely install the 8 fuel injection fuel feed pipe nuts (1, 3).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Tighten the 4 fuel injection bolts (1) to 20 (15 lb ft).
  9. Tighten the 4 fuel injection fuel feed pipe nuts to 25 (18 lb ft).
  10. Tighten the 4 fuel injection fuel feed pipe nuts to fuel rail to 19 (14 lb ft).
  11. Connect the fuel injection fuel return hoses to the fuel injectors. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Return Hose Replacement .

  12. Connect the 4 electrical connections (2).
  13. Install the 2 engine sight shield holding studs (1) and tighten.
  14. If new injectors are installed, program the fuel injector flow rate. Refer to Fuel Injector Flow Rate Programming .
  15. Check that the fuel system is not leaking after the engine was running. Connect the diagnostic tool and erase any diagnostic trouble codes.
  16. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  17. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
