Installation Procedure
- On the removed NOX sensor, measure distances from the start of the wire at the sensor probe to all 4 marked locations where clips were installed.
- On the new NOX sensor to be installed, use distances measured above to mark the sensor wire for the locations of the 4 new clips that will be installed.
- Coat the exhaust pipe thread (3) with assembly paste. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers .
- Ensure that the sensor threads are coated with anti seize compound prior to installation. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers .
- Install nitrogen oxide sensor (4) into the exhaust pipe and tighten it to 50 (37 lb ft), using a suitable tool.
- Fix the nitrogen oxide sensor wiring harness to the wiring harness clip (1) and the mount wire tie clip (2).
- Install 2 NEW tie-strap clips (2, 3) and a NEW taped on edge clip (1) at the marked locations, to rejoin the two sensor wires.
- Install a NEW push nut tie clip to the new NOX sensor wire at the marked location.
- Install the 2 tie-strap clips to the brake lines and the taped on edge clip to the floor panel tunnel edge.
- Install the push nut tie clip to the NOX sensor wire to the stud (4) protruding from the exhaust heat shield.
- Install the nitrogen oxide sensor module (3) to the bracket (2).
- Install the 2 nitrogen oxide sensor module nuts (4) and tighten to 9 (80 lb in).
- Connect the nitrogen oxide sensor wiring harness plug (5) to the nitrogen oxide sensor module (3).
- Install the underbody front air deflector - right. Refer to Underbody Front Air Deflector Replacement - Right Side .
- Lower the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .
