Preliminary Procedures Turn the engine off and apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum reserve. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement . Loosen the 3 charge air cooler outlet air hose bolts from the throttle body and the charge air cooler outlet air hose bracket bolt and hang the hose aside. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor wiring harness plug.
1	Vacuum Pump Pipe Procedure Remove the vacuum pump pipe from the vacuum pump assembly and hang aside. NOTE: Align camshaft notches and vacuum pump shaft notches to vertical position to aid assembly.
2	Vacuum Pump Assembly Bolt (Qty: 4) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . CAUTION: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution . NOTE: Tighten the 4 NEW vacuum pump assembly bolts in two passes: Tighten First pass: 5 (44 lb in) Final pass: 50 degrees Special Tools EN-45059 Angle Meter. For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Removal and Installation) , Special Tools (Diagnostic Tools) .

4	Vacuum Pump Assembly Gasket Procedure Install a NEW vacuum pump assembly gasket.
