ECM Replacement

If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:

• The ECM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
• The CKP Variation Learn-Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn , for V8 engines or Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn for V6.
• The Throttle Learn procedure-Refer to Q38 Throttle Body: Throttle/Idle Learn , for V8 engines or Q38 Throttle Body: Throttle/Idle Learn for V6.
• The Theft Deterrent Programming-Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup .
• Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn-Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn , for V8 engines or Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn for V6.
• The Fuel Composition Diagnostic-Refer to Fuel Composition Diagnosis for the Flex Fuel engines.
• Engine Oil Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Engine Oil Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
• Transmission Fluid Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Transmission Fluid Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
