WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module, ignition ON.
  2. Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground:
    • Terminal 4
    • Terminal 16
    • If 1 V or greater

Repair the short to voltage on the signal circuit.

    • If less than 1 V
  3. Ignition OFF.
  4. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground:
    • Terminal 4
    • Terminal 16
    • If less than infinite resistance

Repair the short to ground on the signal circuit.

    • If infinite resistance
  5. Test for 7.0 k - 10.5 kΩ between signal circuit terminals 4 and signal circuit terminal 16.
    • If greater than 10.5 kΩ
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left.
    2. Test for less than 5 Ω between the circuit terminals listed below:
      • S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left terminal 10 and K9 Body Control Module terminal 4.
      • S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left terminal 5 and K9 Body Control Module terminal 16.
      • If greater than 5 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 5 Ω, test or replace the S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left.
    • If less than 7.0 kΩ
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left.
    2. Verify infinite resistance between signal circuit terminals 4 and signal circuit terminal 16
      • If less than infinite resistance, repair short in circuit.
      • If infinite resistance, test or replace the S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left.
    • If between 7.0 k - 10.5 kΩ
  6. Test for 2.1 k - 3.2 kΩ between signal circuit terminals 4 and signal circuit terminal 16 while pressing forward collision alert switch.
    • If not between 2.1 k - 3.2 kΩ

Test or replace the S70L Steering Wheel Controls Switch - Left.

    • If between 2.1 k - 3.2 kΩ
  7. Replace the K9 Body Control Module.
