Installation Procedure

  1. If removed, install the BPMV bracket. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement .
  2. If removed, install the EBCM. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement .
  3. Install the BPMV assembly to the vehicle.
  4. Install the rear brake front pipe right brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Install the rear brake front pipe left brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  6. Install the brake pressure modulator valve rear brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  7. Install the brake pressure modulator valve front brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  8. Install the brake pressure modulator valve brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  9. Connect the brake pressure modulator valve feed hose quick connect (1).

  10. Connect the brake pressure modulator valve return hose quick connect (1).

  11. Maneuver and position the BPMV assembly to the front cradle.
  12. Loosely install the BPMV assembly nut (1).

    NOTE: Do not tighten the nut until instructed.
  13. Loosely install the BPMV assembly lower bolt (1).

    NOTE: Do not tighten the bolt until instructed.
  14. Loosely install the BPMV assembly upper bolt (1).

    NOTE: Do not tighten the bolt until instructed.
  15. Tighten the BPMV assembly nut to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  16. Tighten the BPMV assembly lower and upper bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
  17. Connect the EBCM electrical connector.
  18. Install the left front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement (Front) , Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement (Middle) and Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement (Rear) .
  19. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  20. Lower the vehicle.
  21. Install the drive motor battery coolant radiator assembly. Refer to Drive Motor Battery Coolant Radiator Replacement .
  22. Install the front bumper impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement .
  23. Secure the brake pressure modulator valve feed hose clip (1) to the differential drive motor cooling hose.

  24. Secure the brake pressure modulator valve return hose clip (1) to the differential drive motor cooling hose.

  25. If installing a new EBCM, program the EBCM. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup .
  26. Perform the Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed . Follow the procedure completely to ensure the sensor and boost valve calibration and EBCM learn processes have been completed.
  27. If necessary, calibrate the brake pressure modulator solenoid valve. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Solenoid Valve Calibration .
