Removal Procedure

Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining
- Relieve the fuel pressure: Fuel Pressure Relief
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Exhaust System (1)» Remove - Exhaust System Replacement
NOTE: Do not cut the exhaust system.
- Fuel Tank Heat Shield (1)» Remove - Fuel Tank Heat Shield Replacement
- Parking Brake Cable Nut (3)» Remove [2x]
- Parking Brake Cable (2) @ Retainer (4)» Remove [2x]
- Parking Brake Cable (2) @ Parking Brake Cable Bracket (1)» Remove
- Hang both parking brake cables aside.
- Fuel Feed Pipe - Underbody (1)» Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Disconnect the evaporative emission canister front pipe (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Close all connections with EN-6015 plugs.
- Evaporative Emission Canister Filter Pipe (2) @ Evaporative Emission Canister (1)» Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Evaporative Emission Canister Filter Pipe (2)» Position aside
- Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)
- Support the fuel tank with a suitable jack. (3)
- Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (4)» Remove [4x]
- Fuel Tank Strap (2)» Remove [2x]
- Remove the fuel tank (1) by retracting the jack (3).
- Remove the fuel tank (1) from the jack (3).NOTE: A second technician is required.
