Installation Procedure
- When replacing the instrument panel assembly apply tape to the steering column adjustment lever and the surrounding areas to prevent marring.
- With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel assembly (1) over the steering column, over the gear shifter and into the vehicle.
- Ensure the sun load sensor wiring and centre speaker wiring (if equipped) is pulled through the access hole.
- Reposition and secure the instrument panel wiring harness into vehicle position at the indicated points.
- Ensure the accessory power receptacle/cigar lighter wiring is reconnected.
- Ensure all instrument panel dowels (side and centre) are relocated and locked in.
- Install Sun Load Temperature and Headlamp Automatic Control Ambient Light Sensor Bezel (1) - Sun Load Temperature and Headlamp Automatic Control Ambient Light Sensor Bezel Replacement
- Install Instrument Panel Bolt (1) (Qty: 2) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)
- Install Instrument Panel Airbag Inflatable Bolt (2) (Qty: 2) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Connect the upper right duct air temperature sensor connector.
- Install the electrical connector to the instrument panel inflatable restraint module airbag inflatable.
- Install Instrument Panel Bolt (1) (Qty: 3) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)
- Install Side Window Defogger Outlet Outer Duct - Right Side (1) - Side Window Defogger Outlet Outer Duct Replacement - Right Side
- Install the selector lever housing (2) from the base (1) ensuring the four retaining tabs are engaged (3).
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install Transmission Control Lever Knob (1) - Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement
- Install Instrument Panel Bolt (1) (Qty: 4) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)
- Install Front Floor Console Rear Air Duct Retainer (1) (Qty: 2)
- Install Instrument Panel Bolt (1) (Qty: 3) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)
- Connect the data link connector.
- Install Instrument Panel Lower Airbag - Driver Side (2) - Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Replacement - Driver Side
- Install Instrument Panel Bolt (1) (Qty: 5) and tighten to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)
- Install Side Window Defogger Outlet Outer Duct - Left Side (1) - Side Window Defogger Outlet Outer Duct Replacement - Left Side
- Install Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel - Right Side (2) - Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side
- Install Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Right Side (3) - Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side
- Install Head-Up Display Bezel (1) - Head-Up Display Bezel Replacement
- Install Instrument Cluster (2) - Instrument Cluster Replacement
- Take caution to ensure the fabric closeout base plate pegs are engaged correctly.
- Install Radio Front Center Speaker (2) - Radio Front Center Speaker Replacement
- Install Radio (2) - Radio Replacement
- Install Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side (2) - Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side
- Install Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover (1) - Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement
- Install Windshield Garnish Molding (1) - Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement
- Install Front Floor Console Extension Panel - Right (1) - Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Right Side
- Install Front Floor Console Extension Panel - Left (1) - Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Left Side
- Install Front Floor Console (1) - Front Floor Console Replacement (Automatic) Front Floor Console Replacement (Manual)
- Install Turn Signal Switch Bracket (1) - Turn Signal Switch Bracket Replacement
- Enable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
These screws are longer than all other instrument panel assembly fasteners.
