Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Engine Oil Lever Sensor & Oil Pan

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the engine oil level sensor (1) to the oil pan (2) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
    2. Fig 2: Oil Level/Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector

  2. Connect the oil level/temperature sensor electrical connector (1).
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Replace the engine oil and oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  5. Reset the GM Oil Life System. Refer to GM Oil Life System ResettingGM Oil Life System Resetting (With Scan Tool) .
