Removal Procedure
The noise cancelling foam component MUST be replaced if it has been exposed to engine fluids. Failure to replace the noise cancelling foam component that has been exposed to engine fluids may result in an engine fire resulting in catastrophic engine damage, and possible injury or death.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. - Fuel Pressure Relief
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose@Throttle Body - Disconnect - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose - Reposition away
Electrical Connector(4)@Fuel Injection Fuel Rail - Disconnect
- Disconnect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector.(5)
- Engine Wiring Harness Clip(1, 2) - Unclip[2x]
- Engine Wiring Harness(3) - Position aside
- Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe - Remove - Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement - High Pressure
Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Bolt(1) - Remove[2x]
- Engine Wiring Harness Bracket - (2) Position aside
- WARNING:

Disconnect the electrical connector.(2)
- Fuel Pump Insulator(3)@Fuel Pump(1) - Remove
Fuel Feed Front Pipe(1)@Fuel Pump(2) - Disconnect - Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Close all connections with EN-6015 plugs.
Loosen the 2 fuel pump bolts (4) alternating in steps of 1/2 turn.
- Fuel Pump Bolt(4) - Remove[2x]
- Fuel Pump(3) - Remove
- Valve Lifter Follower(1) - Remove
- Fuel Pump Seal(2) - Remove and DISCARD
Ensure the valve lifter follower (1) does not slide out of the head bore during the removal of the fuel pump.
