Fuel Injector Flow Rate Programming: Description
Fuel injectors are solenoid valves that inject fuel either into the intake system or directly into the cylinder. The amount of fuel injected depends on the length of the electrical pulse that is applied.
The injector flow rate identifier is stored in the engine control module. This identifier is written on the injector and indicates the actual flow rate for this specific injector. This is used to compensate manufacturing tolerances of the injectors.
