Installation Procedure

  1. Position the passenger air bag module (1) on the air bag bracket.

    WARNING: Never install the passenger airbag module into the instrument panel assembly that airbag module chute is cut. This may cause incorrect deployment when the passenger airbag is deployed.
  2. Push the passenger airbag module (1) into the airbag bracket until the hooks of airbag module is seated completely.
    CAUTION: Make sure that the passenger airbag is installed into the chute completely.
  3. Install the passenger air bag module bolts (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the instrument panel upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  6. After replacing the module, fully deploy the old module before disposal. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Module Handling and Scrapping .
