Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following system/component: Stop/Start System
    • Go to next step: If a related DTC is not set 
  3. Verify the scan tool parameter: Stop/Start Select Switch = Inactive
    • If not the specified state 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 1

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  4. Press and hold the switch: Stop/Start Select Switch

    Verify the scan tool parameter: Stop/Start Select Switch = Active

    • If not the specified state 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 1

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  5. Press and release the switch: Stop/Start Select Switch

    Verify the component activates: Stop/Start Select Switch Indicator

    • If the component does not activate 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 2

    • Go to next step: If the component activates 
  6. Verify the scan tool parameter:
    • Battery Sensor Module Battery State Information = Available
    • Battery Sensor Module Reset Occurred - Using Estimated State of Charge = No
    • If not the specified state 
    1. Refer to: Battery Sensor Module Learn 
    2. Road Test - Vehicle

      Verify the correct operation: Stop/Start System

      • Go to next step: If no condition exists
    3. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  7. Road Test - Vehicle

    Verify the correct operation: Stop/Start System

    • Go to next step: If no condition exists 
  8. Verify a condition does not exist with the component: Infotainment System State - During an autostart or autostop event
    • If a condition exists 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing - Test 3

    • Go to next step: If no condition exists 
  9. All OK.
