Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • 10 V reference circuit measurement may vary with vehicle battery voltage.
  • Test for voltage range with vehicle battery measuring at a minimum of 11.5 V
  1. Vehicle off, disconnect the X1 connector at the A103 Roof Console. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down.
  2. Test the ground circuit terminal 12 for an open/high resistance.
    • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
    • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
  3. Disconnect the X2 connector at the A103 Roof Console, vehicle in service mode.
  4. Test for 8.0 - 10.5 V between the control circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If less than 8.0 V
    1. Vehicle off, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K73 Telematic Control Module.
    2. Test circuit 2515 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
    3. Test circuit 2515 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
    4. Replace the K73 Telematic Control Module.
    • If greater than 10.5 V
    1. Test circuit 2515 for a short to voltage.
      • If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found.
    2. Replace the K73 Telematic Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If between 8.0 - 10.5 V
  5. Vehicle off, Test for 500 - 900 Ω between the signal circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If less than 500 Ω
    1. Disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K73 Telematic Control Module.
    2. Test circuit 2514 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
    3. Replace the K73 Telematic Control Module.
    • If greater than 900 Ω
    1. Disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K73 Telematic Control Module, vehicle in service mode.
    2. Test circuit 2514 for a short to voltage.
      • If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found.
    3. Vehicle off, test circuit 2514 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
    4. Replace the K73 Telematic Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If between 500 - 900 Ω
  6. Replace the A103 Roof Console.
