Installation Procedure
Cruise Control Switch(3) - Install
- Cruise Control Release Switch Bracket(2) - Install
- Steering Wheel Bolt(1) @ Cruise Control Switch - Install and tighten [ 3x ] - Fastener Specifications
Cruise Control Switch(3) - Install
- Connect the electrical connector.
Steering Wheel Spoke Cover(1) - Install
Steering Wheel Bolt(1) @ Steering Wheel Spoke Cover - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch-Right Side(1) - Install
- Connect the electrical connector.
Steering Wheel Shroud(1) - Install
- Connect the electrical connectors.
Steering Wheel Bolt(1) @ Steering Wheel Shroud - Install and tighten [ 4x ] - Fastener Specifications
Steering Wheel Bolt(1) @ Automatic Transmission Manual Shift Auxiliary Position Switch - Install and tighten [ 4x ]
- For vehicles equipped with MQA transmission, refer to Fastener Specifications .
- For vehicles equipped with M5N transmission, refer to Fastener Specifications .
Steering Wheel(2) - Install
- If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
- Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Steering Wheel Bolt(1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Connect the electrical connector.
Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install any connector position assurance (CPA) devices or secondary locks.
- Steering Wheel Airbag(2) - Install
- Steering Wheel Airbag Bolt(1) - Install and tighten [ 2x ] - Fastener Specifications
Install the 2 steering wheel airbag access hole covers.
- Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
After installation of the steering wheel airbag module to the steering wheel, slightly pull the module outward. If there is no give on the airbag module then it is secured correctly. If the airbag module is not fully attached personal injury could result.
