Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
The fuel tank fuel pump shall be installed with the float (a) of the fuel level sensor facing the right side of the fuel tank when the vehicle is viewed from the front in order to prevent malfunction of the fuel level sensor.
Install a NEW fuel tank fuel pump module O-ring gasket (2) to the fuel tank fuel pump module (1).
- Put the fuel tank fuel pump module (1) over the fuel tank so that the float (a) is positioned to the right when the vehicle is viewed from the front.
Lower the fuel pump module (2) into the fuel tank while connecting the fuel tank vent pipe (1) to the fuel pump module. Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Install the fuel tank fuel pump module lock ring (1) to the fuel tank (2).
- Using the CH-45722 Fuel Pump Locking Ring Wrench and a long breaker-bar, rotate the fuel pump module lock ring (1) in a clockwise direction in order to lock the lock ring.
- Install the EVAP system hoses. Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Install the fuel feed pipe. Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the fuel sender assembly. Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (AWD)
- Install the fuel tank. Fuel Tank Replacement (AWD)
