Circuit / System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S36 Dimmer Switch.
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between terminal 8 and B+.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate 

      Repair the open or high resistance on circuit 3251 or the ground point for circuit 3251.

    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates 
  3. Disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
  4. Test circuit 2202 for a short to ground.
    • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
    • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
  5. Test circuit 2202 for an open / high resistance.
    • If an open / high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
    • Go to next step: If an open / high resistance is not found.
  6. Test circuit 2202 for a short to B+.
    • If a short to B+ is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
    • Go to next step: If a short to B+ is not found.
  7. Replace the S36 Dimmer Switch.
  8. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC, verify the DTC does not reset.
    • If the DTC resets, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset.
  9. All OK.
