Installation Procedure
Near Field Communication Exterior Module (1) - Install
- Place the applique in a suitable work area on a clean shop cloth.
- Remove any remaining adhesive residue from the applique with a 50/50 mixture by volume of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water. Wipe the surface dry with a clean lint-free towel.
- Apply tape adhesive promoter (3M 4298UV) in the tape landing areas of the applique per the prescribed product directions.
- Allow approximately 1 minute for promoter to flash dry.
- Remove tape liner from replacement sensor and position onto applique.
- Apply significant force to the sensor in order to ensure tape contact to applique and initialize the tape wet-out. Pressure should be equivalent to at least 10 psi in the areas that tape is present.
Front Side Door Window Frame Rear Applique (2) - Install
- Front Side Door Window Frame Rear Applique Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] Fastener Specifications
- Install the weatherstrip.
Install the electrical connector (1) in its original routing location.
- Connect the electrical connector.
Route the front side door handle cable through the hole in the front side door water deflector (1) while installing it to the door.
- Front Side Door Water Deflector (1) - Install
Front Side Door Pull Handle Bracket (1) - Install
- Front Side Door Armrest Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Front Side Door Window Belt Reveal Molding (1) - Install
Front Side Door Window Belt Reveal Molding Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] Fastener Specifications
Front Side Door Front Auxiliary Weatherstrip (2) - Install
- Install the 7 front side door front auxiliary weatherstrip retainers (1).
- Front Side Door Trim - Install - Front Side Door Trim Removal and Installation
- Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
