Cold Dr-4 - Charge Temperature Sensor Circuit Check

  1. Disconnect both connectors from the computer. Connect an ohmmeter between 10-pin connector cavity No. 9 and 12-pin connector cavity No. 10. Ohmmeter reading should be as shown in the CHARGE TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE  table below.
    CHARGE TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE

    Temperature °F (°C) Ohms
    -40 to 20 (-40 to -7) 382,000-22,000
    50-100 (10-38) 36,000-3300
    140-245 (60-118) 3900-176
  2. If resistance checks okay, proceed to COLD DR-5  . If resistance is not within specifications, disconnect the charge temperature sensor connector. Connect an ohmmeter between the charge temperature sensor terminals. Resistance should be as shown in the CHARGE TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE  table.
