Rectifier Assembly Test
- Check rectifier assembly for poor solder joints, cracks, or signs of overheating. Using an ohmmeter, test for continuity from positive diode pin to positive heat sink. See Fig 1.
- Reverse ohmmeter test probes and repeat test. Test should show continuity in one direction only. Test for continuity from negative diode pin to negative heat sink.
- Reverse ohmmeter test probes and repeat test. Test should show continuity in one direction only. If failure is detected in either test, replace rectifier assembly.
