Field Block Tests

  1. Using an ohmmeter, test for continuity from outer brush terminal to R-3 field terminal, circuit should show continuity. See Fig 1.
  2. Test for continuity from inner brush terminal to J-2 field terminal, circuit should show continuity. See Fig 2.
  3. Test for continuity from J-2 field terminal to R-3 terminal, circuit should show no continuity. See Fig 3.
  4. Turn field block over and test for continuity across radio suppression capacitor terminals, circuit should show no continuity. See Fig 4. If field block does not test as specified, replace field block.
