Memory Seat Self-Test
Press memory switches "1" and "2" and hold 5-10 seconds. Press SET button and hold 5-10 seconds. This will enter self-diagnostic mode.
- Three seconds after releasing switches, control module should move seat to a mid-travel position.
- Within 10 seconds, move seat switch to activate a seat motor. Check for seat movement in all switch positions: seat track forward, rearward, front upward and front downward.
- Within 10 seconds of last seat movement, press memory switches "1" and "2" for at least 5 seconds and release. Seat should move to a full downward and rearward position. Module should move seat until it comes to a stall in 8 positions: forward, rearward, front up, front down, rear up, rear down, recliner forward and recliner downward.
- If a problem exists, control module will not move seat for that function.
- After all motors have run to stall, system will pause for 3 seconds, then return to mid-travel position. Control module will move seat through its positions for a 2-second run.
- Within 10 seconds of last seat movement, press memory switches "1" and "2" for at least 5 seconds and release. This will activate power mirror test. Control module will move right mirror fully horizontally outboard, then fully horizontally inboard. Left mirror will then move inboard, outboard, up and down. Motor will run until each mirror face has been stalled for 1-1/2 seconds at end of travel. If a problem with mirror rheostat is encountered, that particular motor will not be actuated.
- If a problem is found, control module will go into a loop and move only problem part of system.
- To exit loop, repair the fault or press SET or "1" or "2" buttons. When seat and mirror stops, system will return to normal operating mode.
- If a problem is found, see TROUBLE SHOOTING in this article.
