Test 36H - Remote Keyless Entry Problem

NOTE: For wiring diagram, refer to WIRING DIAGRAM  . Perform TEST VER-1  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Gain access to the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module. See Figure . Disconnect RKE module Black connector. Go to next step.
  2. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on RKE module Black connector terminal No. 8 (Pink wire). See Figure . If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of RKE module Black connector terminal No. 5 (Dark Green wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Green wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on RKE module Black connector terminal No. 3 (Pink/Black wire). Using DRB, actuate door lock relay. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink/Black wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  5. Check voltage on RKE module Black connector terminal No. 1 (Pink/Violet wire). Using DRB, actuate door unlock relay. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink/Violet wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  6. Check voltage on RKE module Black connector terminal No. 6 (Orange/White wire). Actuate door lock relay. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Orange/White wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace RKE module.
