Modulator Assembly: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Plymouth Sundance, 1994 Plymouth Acclaim, 1994 Dodge Spirit, 1994 Dodge Shadow, and 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check 3 modulator assembly bushings and replace if necessary. See Fig 1. Install modulator assembly on mounting bracket. Ensure bushings are properly aligned on mounting bracket and modulator assembly. Install, but DO NOT tighten, modulator assembly-to-bracket bolt. Raise vehicle on hoist. Install and tighten both lower mounting bracket bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (28 N.m).
  2. Install 6 hydraulic brake tubes to modulator assembly, and tighten fittings to 13 ft. lbs. (18 N.m). Reconnect 10-pin modulator assembly connector. Lower vehicle, and install 2 master cylinder supply tubes to modulator assembly. Tighten modulator assembly and master cylinder fittings to 12 ft. lbs. (16 N.m). Tighten modulator-to-bracket upper bolt to 21 ft. lbs. (28 N.m).
  3. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Install acid shield and battery tray. Install battery, and connect battery cables.
