Test 25A - Tail Lamp Out

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect lamp outage module 5-pin connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Reconnect lamp outage module 5-pin connector. Start engine. If EVIC panel does not display TAIL LAMP OUT, replace lamp outage module. If EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Natural connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at BCM Natural connector terminal No. 6 (Brown/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Brown/Yellow wire between BCM Natural connector and lamp outage module 5-pin connector for short to ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
