Registering A Secret Code
Since the transmitter is memorized by each individual code, it is necessary to register a code on EEPROM in the control unit if the transmitter or control unit is replaced, or cause of the trouble is presumed to be due to faulty registration of the code. Since two different codes at the most can be memorized in the memory space of the EEPROM, the old code will become unable to be used if the following registration operation is repeated twice. Meanwhile, register a code after confirming that an ordinary door lock function can be worked through key operation.
- Close both doors.
- Jumper Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 1 to terminal No. 4. See Fig 1 .
- Turn the ignition switch to ACC and return it to OFF. This locks and unlocks the door once, allowing a code to be registered.
- Press any button on the transmitter three times within 10 seconds to register transmitter 1. If there are two transmitters, the second transmitter can be programmed by pressing any button on the second transmitter, within 60 seconds of the first programming, 3 times within 10 seconds. This will register the second code.
- After registration is complete, the door locks will lock and unlock once.
- After the second registration is completed, the door locks will lock or unlock once.
- Registration mode finished under the following conditions:
- Registration of two transmitter codes are completed.
- One minute had passed since the registration mode setting.
- DLC jumper is disconnected.
- Ignition switch is turned to ON position.
- Any of the door are opened.
- Verify proper operation each transmitter. If transmitter(s) do not operate properly, repeat registration procedure.
