Injector #1 Control Circuit

NOTE: For circuit and connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 2.5L V6 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 10-pin (FJ22 body) or 4-pin (JA body) injector harness connector. See Fig 1 or Fig 2. On FJ22 body, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between 10-pin injector harness connector (injector side) Light Green/Black wire and Black/Red wire. On JA body, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between 4-pin injector harness connector (injector side) White/Light Blue wire and Dark Green/Orange wire. On all models, if resistance is 10-16 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 10-16 ohms, go to TEST TC-26C.

  2. Move ohmmeter lead from Black/Red wire (FJ22 body) or Dark Green/Orange wire (JA body) to ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Black wire (FJ22 body) or White/Light Blue wire (JA body). Perform TEST VER-2 . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate ASD relay. Put scan tool in voltmeter mode. On FJ22 body, using scan tool, check voltage on 10-pin injector harness connector (PCM side) Black/Red wire. On JA body, using scan tool, check voltage on 4-pin injector harness connector (PCM side) Dark Green/Orange wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in appropriate wire. Perform TEST VER-2. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Put scan tool in ohmmeter mode. Using scan tool, check resistance of PCM connector terminal No. 13 Light Green/Black wire (FJ22 body) or White/Light Blue wire (JA body). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in appropriate wire. Perform TEST VER-2.
  5. On FJ22 body, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Light Green/Black wire between 10-pin injector harness connector (PCM side) and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminal No. 13. On JA body, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of White/Light Blue wire between 4-pin injector harness connector (PCM side) and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminal No. 13.
  6. On all models, if resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Green/Black wire (FJ22 body) or White/Light Blue wire (JA body). Perform TEST VER-2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-2.
