Injector #3 Control Circuit

NOTE: For circuit and connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 2.5L V6 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
NOTE: It may be necessary to remove intake plenum when performing this procedure.
  1. Reconnect injector harness connector. Remove intake plenum to access injector No. 3 connector. Disconnect injector No. 3 connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate Auto Shutdown (ASD) relay. Place scan tool in voltmeter mode.
  2. Using scan tool, check voltage of injector No. 3 connector Black/Red wire (FJ22 body) or Dark Green/Orange wire (JA body). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in appropriate wire. Perform TEST VER-2. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 10-pin (FJ22 body) or 4-pin (JA body) injector harness connector. See Fig 1 or Fig 2. On FJ22 body, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Yellow/Dark Green wire between 10-pin injector harness connector (injector side) and injector No. 3 connector. On JA body, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Yellow/White wire between 4-pin injector harness connector (injector side) and injector No. 3 connector.
  4. On all models, if resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace injector. Perform TEST VER-2 . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate wire. Perform TEST VER-2.
