Window Motor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Dodge Intrepid and 1998 Chrysler Concorde. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove appropriate door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect window motor connector. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground across window motor terminals. Motor should operate, unless it is already at maximum travel. Reverse jumper wires. Motor should operate in opposite direction.
  2. If window does not move in either direction, remove screws holding glass lift plate to regulator. Slide window up and down by hand to ensure it moves freely in glass channels. Check regulator assembly. Repair window and/or regulator as necessary. If window and regulator are okay, replace window motor. If motor operates in one direction only, replace motor. See WINDOW MOTOR R & I  .
