All Windows Do Not Lower When Convertible Top Switch Is Pressed

  1. Remove driver's door panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect window timer module connector. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition on.
  2. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Red wire) and No. 2 (Tan wire) at window timer module wiring harness connector. See Figure . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check circuit breaker No. 19 in junction block. Replace as necessary. If circuit breaker is okay, repair open in circuit.
  3. Turn ignition off. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 9 (Black wire) at window timer module harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open circuit to ground.
  4. Connect window timer module connector. Connect DVOM negative lead to ground. Backprobing connector, measure voltage at terminal No. 7 (Light Green/Red wire) of window timer module wiring harness connector while pressing convertible top switch. See Figure .
  5. Voltage should be displayed for 280-380 seconds. If no voltage is present, replace window timer module. If voltage is displayed, inspect power window circuit connections for loose, corroded or damaged terminals. Repair as necessary.
NOTE: In the following steps, a DVOM must be used when testing for voltage signal. Voltage signal is present for only 280-380 milliseconds.
