Removal & Installation (Neon)

  1. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located at driver's side front corner of engine compartment, near battery and power distribution center. See Fig 3.
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove filler neck from windshield washer fluid bottle. Squeeze retaining tabs on power distribution center while pulling power distribution center upward from retaining bracket. Lay power distribution center aside for access to PCM.
  3. Remove PCM retaining screws and pull PCM upward. Disconnect electrical connectors from PCM. Remove PCM. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten PCM retaining screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
