Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Dodge Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Concorde, 2003 Chrysler 300M, and 2002 Dodge Intrepid. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Vehicle will not start after replacement of Body Control Module (BCM), until Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) is enabled. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M (2002) or BODY DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES (2003).
NOTE: BCM is attached to rear of junction block. Junction block must be removed to enable removal of BCM. Junction block is located behind left side of instrument panel.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Open driver door. Pry off left instrument panel end trim cap. Remove 2 left side under dash cover screws. Remove left side under dash cover. Remove trunk lid release switch and wiring.
  2. Remove left knee bolster. Remove ducts under steering column. Disconnect connectors from junction block. Remove 4 junction block screws. Remove junction block. Disconnect BCM connectors. Remove RKE antenna connector (if equipped). Remove 3 RKE module-to-BCM screws. Remove RKE module. Remove 4 screws holding BCM to junction block and separate BCM from junction block.
  3. To install, transfer RKE module to replacement BCM. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Using scan tool, enable VTSS system. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M (2002) or BODY DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES (2003).
