Section 71 (Engine Cooling System & Automatic Transmission Cooling System): Radiator: Installation

- Position radiator into engine compartment. Seat the radiator assembly lower rubber isolators into the mounting holes in radiator lower support (Figure).
- Attach air conditioning condenser to mounting clips on radiator. Install mounting screws and tighten to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.) (Figure) or (Figure).
- Install the radiator lower hose and clamp.
- Install the transmission cooler line bracket and attaching fastener (Figure) or (Figure). Connect automatic transmission hoses and torque hose clamps to 3 N.m (28 in. lbs.).
- Install the radiator fan. (Refer to RADIATOR FAN ASSEMBLY )
- Connect radiator fan motor electrical connector.
- Connect engine oil cooler lines (if equipped). Torque lines to 18 N.m (160 in. lbs.).
- Install the radiator upper hose. Align hose so it does not interfere with the accessory drive belt or engine. Position hose clamp so it will not interfere with the hood.
- Install radiator upper crossmember. (Figure)
- Place in position the radiator upper crossmember.
- Connect hood latch cable to hood latch.
- Install bolts attaching upper radiator closure panel. Check bolt alignment marks.
- Install bolts attaching the forward edge of upper radiator closure panel.
- Install fasteners attaching the forward edge of radiator upper crossmember.
- Install fasteners attaching upper bumper fascia.
- Install fasteners attaching upper bumper fascia.
- Install headlamp jackscrews both sides.
- Check hood operation.
- Connect negative cable to remote jumper terminal.
- Fill cooling system with coolant. (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - COOLING SYSTEM FILLING )
- Operate engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check cooling system and automatic transmission for correct fluid levels.
