Courtesy Light Inoperative With Any Door (Except Sebring Convertible)
- Connect scan tool to DLC. DLC is located above hood release handle on driver's kick panel. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE on scan tool. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to BATTERY POWER TO MODULE DISCONNECT; IGNITION VOLTAGE TOO LOW; NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BAT PWR DISCON'D); BATTERY POWER TO MODULE under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool displays CCD BUS FAILURE, go to appropriate bus failure procedure under COMMUNICATIONS . If neither message is displayed, go to next step.
- Ensure dome light switch is in the middle position before proceeding. Using scan tool, actuate courtesy light. If courtesy light illuminates, go to next step. If courtesy light does not illuminate, go to step 4.
- Stop courtesy light actuation. Open left front door. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. BCM is mounted to junction block. See Figure. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to OPEN DRIVER DOOR (LEFT FRONT) AJAR CIRCUIT; COURTESY LIGHT INOPERATIVE WITH LEFT FRONT DOOR (ALL MODELS) .
- Stop courtesy light actuation. Locate junction block 6-pin connector C10 below horn relay. Do not disconnect connector. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 6 (Pink wire) on junction block 6-pin connector C10. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block.
- Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow wire) on junction block 6-pin connector C10. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to step 8.
- Disconnect probe from junction block 6-pin connector C10. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM from junction block and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 9 on junction block BCM internal connector. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block.
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disconnect dome light 3-pin connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Inspect dome light bulb. Replace as needed. If dome light bulb is okay, go to next step.
- Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal "B" (Pink wire) on dome light 3-pin connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Pink wire between dome light and junction block.
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
