Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. On manual transmission models, remove shift knob and boot. On automatic models, remove shifter knob and unclip shift indicator bezel. Remove 4 screws attaching center console to floor and remove console. Remove parking brake lever.
  2. Remove Air Bag Control Module (ACM) mounting nuts and remove ACM from bracket. See Figure. Disconnect electrical connectors and remove ACM from vehicle. Ensure negative battery cable is disconnected before reconnecting ACM connectors. To install, reverse removal procedure.
