Wipers Operate At High Speed With Switch In Any Position
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Dodge Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Concorde, 2003 Chrysler 300M, and 2002 Dodge Intrepid. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Wipers operate at high speed with switch in Low position. Wipers operate in Intermittent position, but every wipe is at high speed.
- Disconnect wiper motor connector. Using a jumper wire, connect battery voltage to wiper motor terminal No. 2 (component side). See Figure . Connect a second jumper wire between ground and wiper motor terminal No. 5 (component side). If motor runs at low speed, go to next step. If motor runs at high speed, replace motor. See WIPER MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Substitute HIGH/LOW wiper relay with known-good relay. See Figure . If wiper motor operates properly, replace original relay. If wiper motor does not operate properly, go to next step.
- Check for crossed wires between wiper motor and HIGH/LOW wiper relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If problem exists, repair as necessary. If problem does not exist, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) White C3 connector and remove HIGH/LOW wiper relay. See Figure . Check continuity between ground and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 12 (Violet wire). If continuity exists, repair short to ground. If continuity does not exist, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
