Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

The engine coolant temperature sensor threads into the front of the cylinder head.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the air cleaner lid and makeup air hose.
2. Remove the negative battery cable.
3. With the engine cold, drain coolant until level drops below sensor level.
4. Disconnect coolant sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove coolant sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Install coolant sensor. Tighten sensor to: 19 ± 2 Nm (14 ± 2 ft. lbs.) torque.
2. Attach electrical connector to sensor.
3. Fill cooling system.
4. Install the negative battery cable.
5. Install the air cleaner lid and makeup air hose.
