  2. Perform self-test on instrument cluster. Press and hold TRIP/RESET button and turn ignition on. If seat belt indicator does not turn on for 4 seconds then turn off, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If seat belt indicator turns on for 4 seconds then turns off, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove and disconnect instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect seat belt switch connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 24 (Light Green/Red wire) at instrument cluster harness connector. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Red wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace seat belt switch.
  4. Perform self-test on instrument cluster. Press and hold TRIP/RESET button and turn ignition on. If seat belt indicator does not turn on for 4 seconds then turn off, go to step  8 . If seat belt indicator turns on for 4 seconds then turns off, go to next step.

Measure resistance of Light Green wire between seat belt switch harness connector and terminal No. 24 at instrument cluster harness connector. See Figure .
  6. Measure resistance between ground and Black wire at seat belt switch harness connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open or high resistance in Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step.
  7. Buckle driver's seat belt. Measure resistance between seat belt switch terminals. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace seat belt switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace instrument cluster.
  8. Turn ignition off. Remove and disconnect instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove and inspect seat belt indicator Light Emitting Diode (LED). Replace LED as necessary. If seat belt indicator LED is okay, replace instrument cluster.
