Courtesy Light Output Failure

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, erase all Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs. Using scan tool, activate courtesy lights then check for BCM DTCs. If scan tool does not display COURTESY LIGHT OUTPUT FAILURE, perform wiggle test on all related wiring harnesses. If scan tool displays COURTESY LIGHT OUTPUT FAILURE, go to next step.
  2. Ensure all courtesy lights are off. Remove BCM from junction block. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 9 at BCM-to-junction block 12-pin connector. See Figure . If battery voltage is not present, replace BCM. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
  3. Reinstall BCM in junction block. Disconnect junction block C9 White 12-pin and junction block C10 6-pin connectors. See Figure and Figure . Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow wire) at junction block C10 harness connector. If battery voltage is present, repair short to battery voltage in courtesy light driver circuit (Yellow wire). If battery voltage is not present, replace junction block.
